Same Kind of Different As Me
I strongly (strongly) suggest reading “Same Kind of Different As Me” by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. It is a biography of both of their lives apart from each other and the incredible story that follows after they meet on the streets of Houston, TX. It reveals Denver’s helpless lifestyle and the lifestyle of many share-croppers who were being submitted to modern-day slavery. And Ron, a good old country boy, makes it big when he happens to fall into a unique opportunity and becomes a very successful art dealer. He and Denver meet at a homeless shelter and through Ron’s charity, His wife’s faith and vision, and Denvers wisdom, they minister to Houston’s homeless community and change each others lives in the process. This book changed my heart toward the homeless and taught me a lot about the power of God. I was touched by the faith that they shared for God and each other that bonded them together as family. God’s hand painted this incredible story and what He writes is worth reading!
